Our Team:
The Business Unit is a small team that supports the Halton Safeguarding Children Partnership to carry out its core functions, including the subgroups, learning reviews, and delivering training.
The team also supports the development and implementation of the new safeguarding arrangements, and it ensures the effective delivery of roles and functions. The team is based at Rutland House on a hybrid basis.

Hours: 18.5 per week 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Your Contributions:
We are looking for part time Quality Assurance Officer to join our dedicated team. You will have a strong understanding of child development, Ofsted frameworks, and quality assurance processes, including auditing and evaluating practice. The role requires sound knowledge of legislation and policy in children’s services, alongside the ability to lead multi-agency audits, challenge practice constructively, and promote strengths-based, systemic approaches.
Some responsibilities of the role include:
- Supporting and delivering multi-agency quality assurance audits to evaluate and improve practice and outcomes for children, young people, and families, aligned with legal and practice standards
- Leading, participating in, and analysing thematic audits, including speaking directly with children, families, and professionals to gather qualitative insights
- Producing detailed audit reports and presentations, highlighting good practice, areas for development, and supporting continuous improvement across services
- Facilitating post-audit discussions and learning sessions with practitioners and managers to embed improvements and close the feedback loop
- Building effective working relationships across agencies, managing QA budgets, and supporting professional development through supervision and training

Salary range
- £42,839 - £46,142 per year
