We have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Level 3 Support Apprentice to join our HR Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, 2 year fixed term contract.
As the HR Level 3 Support Apprentice, you will play a vital part in supporting the smooth running of the Council’s HR services, delivering high-quality administrative support across the entire employee lifecycle. From pre-employment checks, onboarding new starters, preparing employment documents, processing changes and responding to day to day HR queries, your role helps ensure HR processes run efficiently, accurately and in line with deadlines.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative and efficient team, where you’ll be supported by your manager, experienced colleagues and a dedicated training provider, BePro, as you work towards a Level 3 HR Support CIPD Apprenticeship, providing you with the foundations for your future HR career.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out a range of HR administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and help produce essential HR reports
- Meet service-level deadlines, including payroll cut-offs
- Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide professional and prompt responses to employee and manager queries
- Ensure compliance with employment law, internal policies, and process standards
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Great attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a supportive and collaborative team
- Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft applications
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information

Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful. Therefore, the usual permission requests for secondments apply and you must speak to your line manager in the first instance before applying.
