Grade 8 - SCP 32 - 36 - £42,839 - £47,181 pa

Castle Point Borough Council are keen to appoint a Housing Surveyor to work in the Housing Services Directorate, to be a part of the team to deliver a resident focused, data led, performance driven service. Ensuring that the homes are maintained in accordance with agreed quality standards. You will contribute to ensuring the delivery of a customer focused, effective and value for money service, reflecting the highest standards of service excellence.

Carrying out all building surveying related activities on a defined patch, working as part of a team to ensure that all properties are safe, warm, dry and comply with regulatory requirements and Castle Point Borough Council (CPBC) Policies and standards.

*Please note that this role will be based in the council offices and will require regular travel to sites in the borough*

Key Skills and abilities

  • Supervising contractors and the co-ordinating of works
  • Undertaking surveys to diagnose cause and remedial action required
  • Preparing full technical reports and detailed specifications
  • Implementing robust quality control measures including post-inspections
  • Managing the diagnosis, specification, ordering, completion of works and all associated administration
  • Ensuring that targets are met, and works are completed to time and budget
  • Updating and engaging with residents in a timely, considerate and courteous manner
  • Ensuring that works are completed on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

Experience

Previous practical experience working within the same or similar role is essential

Applicants must hold a valid UK Driving licence and have access to own vehicle with business insurance.
