    £35,412 to £39,152 per annum (Pay Award Pending)

    Permanent,37 hours per week

    We are looking for a forward thinking, innovative and organised Housing Strategy and Projects Officer to join our joint Housing service at Wychavon District and Malvern Hills District Councils.The role covers a varied and wide range of work including project management, contract management and procurement, leading on collation and presentation of corporate KPIs, interpretation of data, leading on research projects, service improvement and customer feedback.This role would also lead on the delivery, monitoring and reporting achievements on countywide homelessness and housing strategies.In order to manage the pieces of work involved we are looking for someone who is confident in working independently, has excellent decision-making skills and the confidence to make robust decisions at pace and who has highly developed organisation and time management skills.

    To undertake this role, you will need to use your excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate with customers, stakeholders, partners, Councillors and internal colleagues, including Senior Management.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced project officer to grow their CV and gain further experience in a supportive and ambitious shared service.

    About you

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be qualified to minimum of A-Level Standard and including GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above, or equivalent)
    • Have good knowledge and experience of housing and homelessness strategy, policy development and reporting on delivery/achievements against targets set
    • Have previous demonstrable experience of managing projects
    • Experience in seeking customer feedback, consultation exercises and service improvement. Including the experience of relevant software
    • Have a good understanding of the national and local policies with regard to housing – including homelessness, private sector housing and enabling affordable housing, including the National Planning Policy Framework
    • Able to collate data and reporting to Central Government
    • Have the ability to design documents for communication both internally and externally, including social media, the website, videos and written media
    • Be able to present reports, data sets and recommendations to members of the Housing Leadership Team, Portfolio Holders, Councillors and Senior Managers
    • Be required to undertake presentations to different audiences on a wide variety of topics
    • Need to be organised, methodical and able to problem solve. You will need to be able to manage multiple complex projects covering a range of topics simultaneously
    • Excellent computer literacy and be able to use MS Office
    • Have the necessary skills to manage, maintain and keep detailed and accurate records
    • It would be advantageous to have experience of partnership working
    • The postholder will be required to travel to rural locations around the districts, therefore must hold a full UK driving licence
