    HOUSING STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

    £50,269 - £54,495 per annum

Mansfield is a town of towns at the centre of things in Nottinghamshire - a place of many strong connections but with a character all its own. Mansfield, like its Housing service, has faced change unafraid and is openly embracing new ideas and new ways of working as it builds and renews neighbourhoods and new communities.

The council is a stock holding authority with close to 6,300 homes across the district with an active new housing development programme. Our priority is to ensure our residents have safe and warm homes, and we recognise the positive impact this can have on reducing inequalities and improving health and wellbeing.

Following a C2 judgement from the Regulator of Social Housing, the council aims towards achieving C1 status and be the best we can be for our tenants and residents. We have ambitious plans to deliver new affordable and social homes through the housing revenue account and ensure delivery through the council’s Local Plan.

Following a recent restructure, we are seeking a new Housing Strategy and Development Manager to oversee the council’s enabling functions to maximise housing development; lead government and regional-related programmes; work with Registered Providers, developers, landowners and communities to deliver sustainable affordable housing; and develop housing strategy and policy. You will work closely with Planning and Planning Policy Colleagues as well as having oversight of the council’s housing development programme.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Jill Finnesey at jfinnesey@mansfield.gov.uk.

Canvassing of Members of the Council (directly or indirectly) for any appointment shall disqualify the candidate for that appointment. Applicants should disclose if they are related to a Member or Officer of the Authority.
