Make a Difference in Lancaster

Join us as a Housing Options Advisor and play a vital role in preventing homelessness across Lancaster. You’ll provide tailored advice and support to those facing housing challenges, helping people retain their homes and access affordable housing. Your work will ensure statutory duties are met, safeguarding vulnerable individuals and contributing to a safer, stronger community.
What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll deliver professional housing advice, assess homelessness applications, and create personalised housing plans. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you’ll support customers through complex situations, conduct investigations, and maintain accurate case records. Your role includes safeguarding responsibilities and occasional out-of-hours duties, all aimed at making a real impact on people’s lives.
You’ll Fit Right In If…

You have relevant housing experience and a strong understanding of homelessness legislation and safeguarding. Your excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills help you manage complex caseloads with confidence. You value working together, take pride in your work, and show ambition and ownership in delivering high-quality customer service that reflects our council’s values.
