Salary: Grade E - £30,024 to £33,699 per year (*pro rata for part time working) £15.56 to £17.47 per hour
Hours: Post one: full time - 37 hours per week
Post two: part time - 25.54 hours per week*
Location: Ilkeston Town Hall Wharncliffe Road Ilkeston Derbyshire DE7 5RP. Hybrid working is available.

We are looking for two enthusiastic and committed Housing Options Officers to join our busy Housing Options team. You will play a vital role in preventing homelessness, providing high-quality advice, and supporting households to secure safe and sustainable housing solutions.
You will be joining a team dedicated to delivering a compassionate, professional, and proactive service to residents facing housing difficulties.
About the role:
This is an interesting and varied role, and the main responsibilities include:
- Providing detailed housing advice under the Homelessness Reduction Act.
- Assessing homelessness applications and making sound, evidence-based decisions.
- Working creatively to prevent and relieve homelessness through early intervention and support.
- Managing a caseload effectively while maintaining accurate records and case notes.
- Building strong relationships with partner agencies, landlords, and support organisations.
- Signposting and referring customers to relevant services to promote positive, sustainable outcomes.
About you:
You will need:
- Five GCSEs at Grade 4 (or equivalent) including English Language.
- Experience of working in a homeless or housing support service.
- Customer service skills including experience of dealing with members of the public and the ability to work sensitively with vulnerable people.
