Newark and Sherwood District Council is seeking a Housing Options Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis.

Your role will involve:

  • Assisting the team to carry out Local Authority statutory duties to homeless and potentially homeless applicants.
  • Supporting the team with early intervention and provision of assistance.
  • Assisting with the assessment of applications.
  • Providing cover for the duty phone and shared inbox.
  • Maintaining accurate and organised case files.
  • Providing advice and guidance to customers and colleagues as appropriate.

What are we looking for in successful candidates?

  • Previous experience of giving housing advice to the general public.
  • A customer focussed approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A calm and tactful approach.
