Cannock Chase Council are seeking two apprentices to undertake a range of housing / property maintenance skills, for use in Council properties, specialising in carpentry but also incorporating a range of additional skills and resulting in a formal qualification within a maximum 36-month period.
The successful applicants will have knowledge of and an interest in building construction and maintenance and ideally relevant vocational experience in the carpentry trade.
The role holders should ideally hold a full clean driving licence but if no licence is held upon appointment, the role holders must achieve such within two years of appointment.
A commitment to customer care, enjoyment of outdoor work and the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for learning as well as being able to work as part of a team are also essential requirements of these roles.
GCSE’s (Mathematics and English Language) at Grade 4 or above, or equivalent academic experience is essential and candidates applying for these roles from within the Cannock Chase District will have a distinct advantage.
