
Housing Income Recovery Team Leader

The post holder will be required to cover office duty up to 5 days a week where required however there is the flexibility for hybrid working when possible.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Housing Income Recovery Team Leader to lead our Income Recovery service. You will have a proven track record in managing a team and delivering results. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of effective and efficient income collection and recovery for:
- Secure and non-secure council tenants
- Rent Guarantee Scheme tenants
- Homes for Reading tenants
- Service charges, former tenant arrears, and rechargeable repairs
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team to deliver high-quality income recovery services.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ensure service delivery aligns with legislation, government directives, and RBC policies.
- Provide a cohesive and inclusive service that meets the diverse needs of our customers.
- Deputise for the Housing Income Recovery Manager and support other Team Leaders during absences.
- Monitor performance, set targets, and drive continuous improvement.
About you
We’re looking for a motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in housing income recovery management or a related field. You’ll bring proven leadership and team management skills, along with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. A proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement is essential, as is a solid understanding of housing legislation and welfare reform.
Specific Working Requirements
▪ Able to attend relevant meetings/events outside of formal working hours when necessary
▪ A good understanding of current housing issues, regulations and legislation
▪ Able to undertake site visits and access of all parts of a building
▪ Must hold a valid driving licence
▪ Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
▪ Have an understanding and appreciation of the Reading diverse population

Salary range
