About the role
You will be responsible for several functions related to duties related to income recovery for Secure, Introductory and flexible tenancies. This includes management of tenant rent accounts, supporting tenants who fall into arrears and representing the council in court. There is a strong emphasis on tenant consultation and participation. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders as well as voluntary sector agencies who provide support and advice to tenants.
About you
You must be educated to degree level or will have previous experience of working in a front line role within a social housing sector. A BTEC or equivalent in a Housing related subject is desirable as is demonstrable experience and commitment to tenant involvement and empowerment. You must also have practical knowledge of relevant legislation and legal procedures related to tenancy, income management and debt recovery.
An excellent communicator, with good interpersonal skills, you will have good IT skills and be able to use work specific software packages. You must be a available as part of the council’s emergency planning arrangements subject to service requirements and will also need to attend occasional evening meetings and evening working as needed.
