Your role in our journey

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Council’s Safer Neighbourhood Services to coordinate and deliver against aspects of the Governments Homes for Ukraine Scheme, Afghan Resettlement, and our community cohesion agenda. This role will be both challenging and rewarding as you assist individuals and families adapt to a new life, in a new Country.

We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible and committed individual to help ensure that Barnsley remains at the forefront of innovative multi-agency practice to assist with strategic migration in all forms.

What you will need

You will have knowledge of the community cohesion agenda, and the challenges raised by a multi-cultural society: with proven experience of formulating and delivering support packages for those in need. You will be working with some of the most vulnerable families living in Barnsley so excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are a must. Managing expectations will be a key skill for this role.

You will be able to work effectively as part of a team, working together with colleagues across and in partnership with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
