
Housing Assistant
The Housing and Welfare Team is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed individual, who can help us to achieve our vision. Key priorities for the team include:
- Moving from a reactive crisis management homeless service to a predominantly early intervention and prevention service.
- Improving customer access and experience of the service
- Working closely with partners to address the underlying causes of homelessness.
- Reducing the number of rough sleepers on the streets of Barnsley
To support us in achieving this vision we are seeking a capable and enthusiastic individual to join our team. The role is based at our 24 hour supported housing provision working alongside a team of Housing Led Caseworkers, providing support and advice to a range of tenants, many of whom have experienced rough sleeping. The role will be varied and include tasks such as updating and maintaining computerised systems, assisting in the monitoring, and analysing of performance data, covering duty at the residential setting, assisting in budget monitoring, and invoicing processes, giving advice, and responding to customer enquiries.
This role requires a person with excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with members of the public, prioritise and monitor workloads to meet deadlines and work in partnership with colleagues or on your own initiative according to demands. A level 3 qualification is required.
Salary range
- £26,403 - £28,142 per year
