Safer Communities are seeking a highly motivated and experienced officer to work as part of our multi-disciplinary Community Safety team. You will be responsible for providing a proactive housing management service to tenants and landlords in the private rented sector. This will include dealing with housing disrepair, overcrowding, landlord malpractice, antisocial behaviour and environmental issues.

While this is predominantly a supporting role, you will need to be an experienced investigator with substantial experience of problem solving to achieve the best outcomes for our residents. You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of relevant legislation, tools, powers and approaches in dealing with vulnerable people living in private sector accommodation and taking enforcement action where necessary. This will include a working knowledge of the relevant sanctions and legal processes available to secure the best outcomes.

You will be a strong team player who is able to respond creatively to new challenges and ways of working.
