    About the role

    This is an exciting time to join our Housing Solutions service at West Northamptonshire Council! We will be introducing a new Housing Allocations Policy and a new Housing Allocations System, later in 2026.

    This role will mean you can play an integral role in shaping and embedding processes, with plenty of opportunity to learn and progress.

    This is offered on a 12 Month fixed-term contract, to start as soon as possible


    Additional information

    You don’t need experience across all aspects of the job as that will form part of your development journey, but you will need experience of working within housing and conducting complex investigations and enquires in order to assess applications for assistance under housing legislation, as this is central to the role.

    You’ll need to have a solutions driven and adaptable approach to working, thrive in a busy environment with a positive approach to challenges!

    You will have previous experience providing excellent advice and assistance to a wide range of people who may have complex and challenging behaviour, and you will have worked collaboratively with other organisations to meet these complex needs. You will be able to smoothly manage the Allocations processes whilst being able use your own initiative to 'think outside of the box’. Please note, this role is based in Northampton but will require occasional travel within the West Northamptonshire area.
