Are you a highly motivated and experienced housing professional with a passion for making a real difference in people's lives? Adur & Worthing Councils are seeking a dedicated Homelessness Prevention Team Leader to join our Housing Needs team.
About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for directing and managing the work of the Homelessness Prevention Team. This includes fostering an innovative, outcome-focused, and multi-agency approach to prevent homelessness, as well as providing housing advice and assessments. The role also involves leading the prevention and relief of homelessness and ensuring the Council's statutory duties are met for those who experience homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Additionally, the post holder will conduct reviews of decisions related to homelessness, the suitability of accommodation offered, and the housing register.
As part of your work you will also represent the council at a variety of partner meetings and forums, nurture and develop partnerships with key agencies to ensure that prevention of homelessness is ‘Everyone’s Business’ and work in collaboration to prevent and relieve homelessness. You will also coordinate and take part in the out-of-hours rota for emergency homelessness cases.
