    37 hours per week, Permanent contract

    £27,711 - £30,060 per annum

    We are currently looking for a Homeless Outreach Officer to join our dedicated and supportive Outreach team.This role implements the Council’s duties, responsibilities, and policies within the Housing Service and is recognised as the primary point of contact for homeless customers.This includes rough sleepers and further cohorts who may present with a variety of additional needs such as substance misuse, financial difficulties and mental and physical ill health.

    The role also includes support for those threatened with homelessness and involves partnership working with the Housing Team and external agencies to ensure best outcomes for every individual, household and family the team work with utilising the best packages of support available.

    About you

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be customer focused and dedicated to providing an excellent front facing service
    • Have previous experience of working in a housing or customer facing environment
    • Be a team player who can work well with others and is able to innovate/act on own initiative whilst being responsive to the needs of others
    • Have good I.T. skills
    • To be able to prioritise a varied workload
    • To be able to deal with difficult situations in a calm and caring manner
    • Be able to support customers to access services who display challenging behaviour and are experiencing difficult circumstances

    The role requires travel across our districts in areas where access to public transport is limited. Candidates must therefore hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
