Job Description

Salary: £28,344 - £31,719 per annum pro rata to hours worked

Grade: C

Fixed Term Contract to 31st March 2026

Part-time: 22.2 Hours per week

Key experience and skills required

  • To work with the School Effectiveness Team within the Family Hubs to provide universal and targeted support, advice and guidance to parents and carers aimed at giving the children the best possible start in life.
  • To deliver high quality universal and targeted sessions for families and their children from 0-18 (25 if SEND).
  • To plan, deliver all universal and targeted sessions in line with the evidence- based programmes (training provided) and be able to evaluate the impact they have on family outcomes.
  • To acknowledge that parents are the child’s first educator and help parents play and interact with their child in creative and stimulating way.
  • To offer advice, support and guidance to parents and carers on their child’s education, health and welfare.
  • To work closely with partner agencies, particularly Social Care and Health in promoting partnership working to meeting the needs of the family.
  • To support the Family Hubs to engage those families that are hard to reach.
  • Attend the required meetings within the Family Hubs and/or with agencies to suit the needs of the service delivery.
  • Full training will be provided for the evidence-based programmes the facilitator is expected to deliver.

Qualifications essential to the role:

  • Child Care qualification equal to NVQ Level 3, knowledge of child development, with an ability to plan for different ages and understanding of parenting strategies.
  • Ability to use a variety of computer packages.
  • Valid UK drivers’ licence and use of car.

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this post.
