
Highways Depot Operative (Drainage)
We are recruiting a Highways Depot Operative at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Penmaen Depot
Team: Highway Engineering
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.
We pay an attractive salary of £25,584 - £27,269 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will assist the delivery of all highway infrastructure related projects, catering for all work streams and remit, by issuing materials to the Network Contracting Services (NCS) workforce.
You will be responsible for the control and issue of stock material, small construction plant and Personal Protective Equipment within their care at the designated Highway depot.
The postholder will support the Supervisor / Senior Supervisor by ensuring the depot is a safe and clean working environment.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A good understanding of working within construction related activities, particularly Highways.
- The ability to communicate effectively with and relate well to others within the workplace and with relevant staff in other parts of the Council and external organisations.
- A flexible approach to working hours with the ability to respond to emergency or unplanned works outside of normal working hours.
- A Full UK Category B (car) driving licence, to drive a Council vehicle.
