This is a key post within the Sustainable Communities, Regeneration & Economic Recovery Directorate. The post holder will be assisting the Service Manager with the management and delivery of the service, service objectives and priorities. Provide professional, technical support and advice to the service manager, elected members, internal departments and the public to support the delivery of the Council’s statutory duties and corporate priorities in the following areas,

  • Highway Record Keeping
  • Highway Stopping up Orders
  • Section 38/278 Highway Act Agreements
  • Private Street Works
  • Rights of Way

Lead on keeping accurate highway records and updating the Council’s statutory records as appropriate. Lead on obtaining highway stopping up Orders utilising statutory powers Communicate effectively with stakeholders, residents and council officers.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised Highway Records Officer, with experience and skills to maintain the Highway records on behalf of the Council and to represent the council at various technical advisory group meetings.

Reporting to the Development Control Manager, you will also work closely with other members of the Highways and Parking Team, whose tasks are varied and wide ranging.


This is a demanding and rewarding role which will bring benefits to people who live and work in Croydon. The successful candidate will have relevant a formal qualification in a relevant subject and/or comprehensive relevant post experience.
