
Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Edgewick Community Primary School
We are pleased to invite applications for a committed, enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, confident in leading whole-class sessions, and eager to contribute to the nurturing, inclusive environment of our school.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support high‑quality teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2 (depending on skills and experience).
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under the guidance of teachers.
- Provide targeted interventions to support progress in areas such as phonics, reading, writing and maths.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils to support their wellbeing, engagement and development.
- Assist with assessment, tracking and reporting on pupil progress.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including playground duties, supporting routines and helping to maintain a positive school ethos.
- Support and deliver TA CPD.
