About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Health Improvement Officer in Camden’s Health and Wellbeing Department, you will develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based programmes that promote healthy eating and physical activity for children, young people and families. This will include the direct delivery of weaning sessions to parents as well as family healthy behavior and cooking programmes. Using data, evidence and co-production, you will help ensure services reach marginalised and disadvantaged communities and reduce health inequalities.
You will work closely with residents, schools, early years settings and partners across the Council, NHS and voluntary sector to deliver effective health improvement initiatives. You will also provide advice and share best practice across the department, supporting continuous improvement and better health outcomes for Camden’s families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
All About You
You will hold a degree (or equivalent) in nutrition and have experience in a health promotion or improvement role, delivering group sessions to children, young people and families. You will be confident in using evidence-based approaches, project management skills and evaluation methods to improve health behaviours and reduce inequalities.
You will have experience working with schools, early years settings and families, and be skilled in building effective partnerships and engaging communities through co-production. You will bring strong analytical and communication skills, able to interpret complex information, contribute to reports and present clearly to different audiences.
Well organised and adaptable, you will manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively, and show a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
