About the role
Are you looking for a varied and interesting Health and Safety role working across a range of disciplines within the Councils Parks Section?
With input from technical experts you would be updating, reorganising, and checking health and safety procedures within the department. The role is very varied with tasks ranging from managing sheep and felling trees to general office work to managing a very popular seafront and will involve site visits both to understand working practices and to audit adherence to sate working procedures.
Parks related technical assistance would come from colleagues within the Parks Section and Health and Safety from our corporate Health and Safety team. The successful candidate would need to be qualified and experienced in the implementation of good health and safety practice, but the Council would provide support and/or training for the specialist technical aspects of the job such as arboriculture.
The post holder will be based in the beautiful award winning Stanmer Park but would need to be able to travel to any of our work sites across the City. A pool vehicle is available or otherwise the Council will reimburse the successful candidate for using their own vehicle.
The post holder will report to the Parks Operations manager but will work closely with the Corporate Health and Safety business partner.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Salary range
- £34,434 - £39,152 per year
