Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Helyg provides Welsh-medium education for pupils in Blaenau Gwent. Situated on the outskirts of Brynmawr, the school offers modern spacious accommodation and excellent resources and is served by the A465 road network which ensures the area is commutable from Newport, Cardiff, Swansea and the wider Southeast Wales region.
Governors are seeking to appoint an innovative and inspirational Headteacher that is an outstanding practitioner committed to developing teaching and learning of the highest quality. Someone who is committed to ensuring that the school provides the best opportunities for all our learners and plays an active role in the expansion and development of Welsh-medium education in Blaenau Gwent and the wider region.

This post includes providing Headteacher responsibilities for Ysgol Gymraeg Tredegar on a temporary basis that will be reviewed regularly. Ysgol Gymraeg Tredegar is a seedling school provision within the town of Tredegar in a purpose-built school. The provision currently hosts around 32 children and falls under the Governance of Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Helyg with a dedicated staff group and senior leader already in situ.
