About the Role

As a key member of the extended leadership team, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of environmental and neighbourhood services across the borough. This includes waste and recycling, street cleansing, parks and green spaces, environmental enforcement, and community safety initiatives.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring services that keep streets clean and safe, protect and enhance green spaces, reduce anti-social behaviour, and deliver high-quality, value-for-money services for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead waste and recycling strategy, including partnership working
    Oversee street cleansing and environmental response teams
  • Manage parks, arboriculture, and grounds maintenance
  • Direct neighbourhood enforcement and anti-social behaviour response
  • Drive community engagement and partnership working with police and external agencies
  • Act as the Council’s lead advisor on environmental services
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety, and operational standards
