    This is a Politically Restricted Post under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 and subsequent amendments introduced by the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009.

    Main Responsibilities

    As our Head of Change and Digital, you will take the lead role in developing and implementing the council’s approach to change and digital transformation, ensuring that we are at the forefront of innovation at a time of significant change across Local Government.

    With direct management responsibility for the Council’s Change Team, Digital Service and the Staffordshire Centre for Data Analytics, you will,

    • play a pivotal role in ensuring delivery of the Council’s Strategic Direction 2026 – 2028 (its corporate plan) priorities and the projects that underpin this.
    • work closely with the Assistant Director for Strategy and Transformation to ensure that Staffordshire is at the forefront of change, helping us to deliver better outcomes for our residents, communities and businesses .
    • develop and maintain effective relationships within the council and with public, private and third sector organisations, ensuring there is a focus on mutually beneficial arrangements to deliver the council’s strategic priority outcomes
    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for you to have,

    • Relevant professional degree or equivalent by experience
    • Experience of successfully leading and managing large multi-disciplinary teams
    • Significant experience of leading digital transformation focused on innovation, engaging audiences, best practice and efficiency
    • Significant leadership and management experience and the ability to lead and drive culture change and transformation
    • Influencing and negotiating skills at the highest levels, to deliver change, improvement and financial benefits
