The London Borough of Redbridge is seeking an exceptional leader to take up the post of Group Manager, Community & Consumer Protection, CCTV and Licensing. This is a high‑profile role at the forefront of our ambition to create safer, stronger, more confident communities.

As a borough committed to modernisation, high performance, and a zero‑tolerance approach to criminality, we are looking for a resilient, strategic and inspiring leader who can drive excellent services and deliver meaningful impact for residents, businesses and visitors.

    About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio covering:

    • Community Protection and Enforcement Services
    • Consumer Protection and Trading Standards
    • CCTV Operations and Public Space Surveillance
    • Licensing (including regulatory, commercial and community licensing functions)
    • Safety Advisory Group Chair (SAG)

You will provide operational and strategic oversight, ensuring services are resilient, intelligence‑led, and aligned with our enforcement priorities and community safety objectives. As part of the wider leadership team, you will contribute to shaping borough‑wide strategies and champion positive behaviours that support Redbridge’s modernisation agenda.

    What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with:

    • Strong understanding of enforcement and regulatory services, with the ability to balance firmness with fairness.
    • Demonstrable strategic leadership experience, particularly in fast‑paced, politically sensitive environments.
    • Excellent political acumen and the confidence to work effectively with elected members, senior stakeholders and partners.
    • A commitment to delivering zero‑tolerance approaches to criminality, safeguarding communities and enhancing public safety.
    • Positive, energetic and flexible behaviours, with the ability to inspire teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • A track record of modern, progressive leadership, able to deliver transformation and champion innovation.

    Why Join Redbridge?

This is a significant opportunity to shape the safety and well‑being of communities across the borough. You will join a committed team with strong values, a drive for excellence, and a shared focus on delivering high‑quality, community‑centered services.

Your leadership will directly influence how Redbridge protects residents, supports legitimate business activity, and tackles behaviours that undermine the safety and vitality of our borough.
