Our vacancies
Brentwood Borough Council currently has two permanent vacancies for Grounds Maintenance Operatives.
Key duties and responsibilities
The post holder could be based at various sites throughout the Borough and will assist in the maintenance and cleansing of a wide range of the Council’s public places and open spaces to undertake a variety of Grounds Maintenance tasks within Brentwood’s Parks, Green Spaces and Highways including grass cutting, hedge cutting, sports pitch maintenance, litter picking. To provide cover for sickness and absence within Brentwood's Housing Maintenance and Cemeteries teams including grass cutting, hedge cutting, sports pitch maintenance, litter picking, cemeteries maintenance.
Key skills required
- Current driving licence.
- High level of flexibility, positive can-do attitude.
- Working knowledge of sophisticated mowing equipment and handheld equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge cutters and other horticultural equipment.
- Experience in grounds maintenance works, such as pruning weeding, planting.
- Training in the use of ride on mowers desirable.

Salary range
- £23,184 - £26,899 per year
