Grants & Programme Monitoring Officer (Leisure Capital Programmes)
Grade 5 - £35,412 - £40,777 per annum
Full Time (37 hours per week), Fixed Term (24 months from start date)

Hastings Borough Council is investing more than £2 million in community leisure and capital projects, supporting sports clubs, community organisations, and local facilities across the borough. We're looking for a Grants & Programme Monitoring Officer to play a key role in ensuring these investments are delivered successfully, compliantly, and with lasting impact.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our leisure capital programme, coordinating grant funding rounds, monitoring project delivery, and ensuring robust governance and compliance processes are in place.
You'll work closely with community groups, sports clubs, council services and senior leaders to:
- Coordinate the delivery of grant programmes and capital projects.
- Support applicants through the funding process.
- Monitor project milestones, budgets and risks.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for senior officers and elected members.
- Ensure compliance with funding conditions and audit requirements.
- Maintain oversight of programme performance and impact.
About You
We're looking for someone who can bring excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to programme management. You will ideally have:
- Experience administering grant programmes, funding schemes or complex projects.
- Experience tracking budgets, milestones and risks.
- Strong report-writing and analytical skills.
- A good understanding of compliance, monitoring and audit requirements.
- The ability to work confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience within local government, capital projects or public funding programmes would be advantageous but is not essential.
