About the role

As a Gardener, you will develop and maintain the ornamental horticultural areas within the award-winning parks, green spaces and public areas around the Borough of Rugby.

Key responsibilities will include.

  • The planting and maintenance of shrub and herbaceous borders, annual bedding displays, and other environmental improvements.
  • Carry out the irrigation of hanging baskets, containers, and nursery stock.
  • To provide creative input into the design of bedding schemes, shrub and herbaceous borders, and other environmental improvements.
  • Maintain fine turf areas using specialist machinery.
  • Use of Herbicides for the control of weeds.

About you

Working for Rugby Borough Councils Grounds Maintenance Team you’ll need practical experience within the horticultural, parks and or nursery industry and be experienced in the use and care of horticultural machinery with the aptitude to work outside in all weathers.

Alongside this you’ll need to be a competent, dependable, and motivated individual with a keen eye for detail.

A full driving licence is essential.

Salary range

  • £27,711 - £30,060 per year
