We have an exciting opportunity for two Teaching Assistants to join our team on a term term only basis for a 12 month fixed term contract.

Any successful internal candidate will be offered the position as a secondment and, in line with Section 8.1 of the Secondment Policy, must consult with their manager before applying.

About you…

As a Teaching Assistant you will be passionate about helping children and young people thrive, especially those who may be vulnerable or facing challenges.

You will be motivated by the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

As a Tecahing Assistant you are adaptable, proactive and ready to contribute in a hands-on role that spans teaching support, creative resource development, and admin support. You will also play an active role in our ESOL Conversation Club, helping learners grow in confidence and communication.

About the team…

The Virtual School Team promotes the educational achievement of looked after children, whether they are educated in Bracknell Forest or placed out of authority.

We are a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team committed to creating meaningful change for children and young people who present as vulnerable. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, we work in partnership to ensure no one is left behind.

Key responsibilities…

  • Assisting Tutors in preparing the lesson materials and centre equipment.
  • Helping students manage stress and anxiety, in and outside the classroom, providing co regulation and reflective learning opportunities to enable them to fully participate in the learning.
  • To support Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children and young people to access sessions
  • Update Stellar Grove tracking documents, ensuring that detailed and accurate records are maintained in respect of the children and young people attending sessions.
  • To keep up to date with relevant legislation. i.e After school clubs, community activities and tuition safeguarding guidance for providers.
