Salary: £39,152 to £42,839
Location: Lincoln, hybrid working

About the role
We are looking for a Financial Operations Manager to play a key role in delivering high-quality, efficient and customer-focused financial services at Lincolnshire County Council.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the heart of a transformation programme. You will help modernise financial systems, standardise processes, and improve outcomes for both internal and external customers.
Working across Financial Services, you will support the day-to-day operation of financial processes while contributing to service redesign, digital solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the effective day-to-day operation of financial systems and transactional processes
- Monitoring performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving service improvements
- Leading or supporting process improvement and transformation initiatives
- Supporting the rollout and embedding of new financial systems and enhancements
- Developing and promoting customer-focused services, including self-service and digital “front door” models
- Ensuring strong financial control, compliance, and data integrity across all processes
- Producing insightful reports and performance data to inform decision-making
- Working with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver joined-up financial operations
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with experience driving process improvement
- Confident working in a complex, changing environment
- Experienced in financial systems, operational finance, or transactional finance
- Strong in data analysis and interpreting performance information
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
- Comfortable supporting system implementations, change initiatives, and new ways of working
- Passionate about customer service, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Essential skills and experience
- Experience improving processes and delivering operational efficiencies
- Experience working with financial systems and supporting system change
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities
- Experience managing priorities and delivering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills and ability to work with financial data tools
- Knowledge or experience of process improvement approaches (e.g. Lean)
