
Finance & Compliance Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity within the Skills & Employability Team for a Finance & Compliance Assistant.
The Finance & Compliance Assistant is responsible for providing financial, contractual, and administrative support to the wider Skills & Employability Service.
The role will be based in Staffordshire Place 1, in the centre of Stafford town, with the option to work remotely.
Main ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities
- Undertake a wide range of financial transactions including placing orders, goods receipting, ensuring the accurate and prompt payment of invoices.
- Support the Service to ensure accurate records of learner data are kept on various ICT systems.
- Liaise with Contract & Quality Managers and other staff as appropriate, to support effective contract monitoring by providing administration support including production of reports, the tracking and chasing of documentation.
- Assist the Finance & Compliance Manager with contract management, by providing administration support, including maintenance of the contract register, issuing of contract variations, carrying out compliance checks.
- Responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of all records, paper and electronic (including uploaded files to SharePoint), ensuring the appropriate retention schedules are adhered to and documents are archived accordingly in accordance with the Records Management Policy.
- Provide support, advice, guidance, and training in respect of financial, compliance, and administration procedures to staff within the Service, and also external Training Providers. Including Provider induction training and the production of user manuals.
We are looking for you to have,
- At least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of contract compliance
- Demonstratable IT skills to support the development and delivery of quality systems, including digital formats
- Experience of working in administration / support role, including for internal and external audits
- Effective interpersonal skills; listening, verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, across services and with external Partners
- Attention to detail
- Ability to present data that are accurate, well-presented and easy to use for the purpose and audience intended
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines

Salary range
- £25,583 - £25,989 per year
