The Corporate Asset team acts as first contact and resolution for all our maintained buildings and land assets, offering direct support and guidance.
Our aim is to deliver a cost effective and sustainable property portfolio that ensures the delivery of service requirements. It is vital that the council’s assets are working hard and contribute to the overall corporate and service objectives. The management of the Property is an ongoing activity for rationalisation and planned maintenance.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of the central Stafford hub of buildings which includes Staffordshire Place 1 & 2 offices and County Buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities are compliant, efficient, and provide a safe and comfortable environment for staff, tenants, and visitors.
Due to the nature of this role it is considered primarily office-based and presence in the office will be required during the core hours. The role is permanent and the core hours will be 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs the first point of contact for facilities management queries you will use your excellent communication skills and professional and friendly manner to support and respond to queries or complaints from colleagues, county council members and the public.
You will also:
- Be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and systems is undertaken in line with current Health & Safety and legislative requirements.
- Oversee contractors, service providers, and supplier relationships including building inductions and hazard exchange.
- Develop risk assessments and ensure all compliance documentation is up to date, relevant, recorded and readily available.
- Support with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
- Support space management and office reconfiguration where required.
You'll have:
- A degree or equivalent property-related qualification or a relevant Facilities Management qualification e.g. Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management. Candidates with extensive Facilities Management experience will also be considered
- Significant experience working in facilities management within a large, complex building (preferably HQ / campus environment) with multiple buildings and occupancy types
- Detailed knowledge of statutory compliance, building services, workplace safety, and FM best practice.
- Experience in managing contractors delivering property maintenance services and property professional services providers.

Salary range
