Join Our Innovation Journey – Help Shape the Future of Children’s Services!
We’re seeking a creative, dynamic and experienced social worker who is passionate about driving change and improving the way practitioners work. This is a rare opportunity to join our Children’s Digital Programme, where you will help shape the tools and systems that enable practitioners to spend less time on case management and more time with children and families to spend more time where it matters most-with children and families.
As a key part of our Children’s Digital Programme, you will be at the heart of reshaping how children’s services work. This is your chance to drive creative solutions, influence digital transformation and make a tangible, lasting impact on practice.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Business Intelligence, IT and frontline practice bringing your social care expertise into innovative projects that improve systems, streamline processes and enhance data quality. Your work will directly support practitioners by making case recording smarter, faster and more intuitive.
This role includes hands on engagement with teams in person, on Microsoft Teams and through floor-walking support to champion excellence in system usage and recording.
To apply, you must hold a Social Work Degree, be registered with Social Work England and preferably have experience using the Mosaic case management system. We’re looking for someone with broad knowledge of social work practice who is excited by innovation and transformation.
Key responsibilities within this role include:
- Evaluate and recommend creative approaches to achieve meaningful change, balancing risks and benefits.
- Act as the children’s services bridge between IT and BI, translating service needs and statutory requirements into clear system development priorities.
- Contribute to the scoping of reporting functions, ensuring Mosaic provides the right information when it’s needed.
- Be part of a data testing group, verifying that datasets are accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Provide input into regular progress reports as part of business as usual activity.
- Work with services to monitor, review and continuously improve Mosaic pathways and the practitioner experience.
- Support wider Digital Programme initiatives, including involvement in exploring AI tools to assist practitioners.
- Develop and implement system amendments to support data quality improvements.
- Provide expert support to practitioners and managers on using the case management system effectively.
Here at Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do. As part of our team, you can be assured we will support you in striving for excellence in your work. We prioritise learning and enabling you to achieve your potential.
