As Events Officer, you will play a central role in delivering a diverse programme of civic, cultural and community events, working with colleagues, local partners and elected Members. This will be a rewarding and varied role which offers creativity, collaboration and the opportunity to make a visible impact in the community.

In this role, you will lead on the planning, coordination and delivery of a wide range of events, from civic and mayoral engagements to seasonal celebrations and large scale community activities. You will work closely with internal teams, partners and stakeholders to ensure events are well organised, safe and inclusive, while managing logistics such as venues, suppliers, budgets and risk assessments. You will also play a key role in building partnerships, supporting communications and promotion, and ensuring events reflect the Council’s priorities and meet professional and regulatory standards.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, adaptable and confident managing multiple events in a fast paced environment. You will bring proven experience of planning and delivering successful events, strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential, along with an understanding of health and safety and risk management in an events setting.

The post is offered as a 2 Year Fixed Term contract, on a full time basis (36 hours per week).

The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work up to three days per week from home.
