    About us:

    Tower Hamlets has one of the highest population densities and fastest growing populations in the country, increasing number of visitors and workers across the borough and more than 85% of residential properties are flats. With growth in housing, people, business and visitors, we are producing more waste that needs to be reduced, reused or recycle. The recycling rate is low and our recycling contamination rate is high.

    About the role:

    It is an exciting time to work in waste and the environment, as they are at the forefront of change. If you are looking for a role where you can make a difference, the Environmental Services are looking for a highly motivated individual to help shape and promote services, is committed to reducing waste, and increasing recycling.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Have a key role in the roll-out of innovative initiatives and projects including borough-wide food waste - to deliver improvements in local environment, service design, and service delivery.
    • Provide project management and co-ordination across the service to help improve waste, recycling and operational efficiency.
    • Support delivery of Tower Hamlets Waste Management Strategy 2018-2030.
    • Gather, report, and analyse information and data relating to projects.
    • Engage directly with key stakeholders and residents to influence positive changes in attitudes and participation.
    • Stay ahead of legislation changes and industry trends.

    Salary range
