Following a restructure the Environmental Health Services are looking for an inspirational and motivational Service Manager to develop high quality, cost effective and customer focussed services that seek to protect and enhance the safety, health, and environment, striving to put the customer at the heart of everything we do.
You will be working as part of a fast paced and focused team of dedicated professionals. The Service Manager role will be an exciting opportunity to work with newly recruited Team Leaders and highly experienced officers delivering within a new structure within a department which is integral to the Council.
You will advise, give guidance, and provide day to day management of the Team Leaders within the Environmental Health Services Team. This includes, but is not limited to; commercial environmental health, nuisance, housing, contaminated land, car parking, net zero and licensing.
The recent restructure presents a unique opportunity to actively shape your team taking a proactive leadership role, guiding the department through the transition, developing skills, and becoming a role model for the team.
Applicants must have :-
Excellent, detailed, technical knowledge of a range of work areas covered by Environmental Health Services Legislation, the procedures, and functions within a Local Authority (including areas such as food safety, housing, air quality, contaminated land, and environmental permitting) and a qualification relevant to at least one work area of the role.
This role will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (known as a DBS check). All offers of employment will be made conditional upon receipt of the satisfactory DBS check.
