    Your role in our journey

Within the Food Team you will primarily specialise in the area of inspecting food premises, investigating food hygiene complaints, giving advice and guidance to businesses, sampling and investigating infectious disease outbreaks.

    What you’ll need

You will need a level 6 degree in Environmental Health (or MSc in Environmental Health) and the Certificate of Registration with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Registration Board.

A recognised qualification relevant to the work of the team, will unlock higher level positions dependent on your relevant professional experience. Knowledge of regulatory services and food hygiene legislation is essential. Whatever level you join us at, you will also bring to the role a commitment to work flexibly, and an appetite for engaging in continuous training and professional development in this rewarding field of work.

So, we’ve created a development process that lets you grow in the way that suits you - whether that’s training to be a leader, or learning flexibly online.
