Environmental Area Chargehand

£28,598 - £31,022 per annum

37 hours per week

Summer – 7:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday

Winter – 7:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am – 12:30pm Friday

Required to support the operations of Environmental Services, helping the council to deliver its purpose of creating a clean, safe and accessible environment.

As a skilled operative within environmental services you will be required to work flexibly dependent on the day to day needs of each service.

You will be responsible for the guidance, motivation and direction of driver and non-driver operatives within the team and must be able to make independent decisions and solve problems.

You must be able to demonstrate experience in a horticultural activity which includes some experience in environmental services.

NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds linked to amenity horticulture activity as well as PA1 / PA6 / PA06a in the safe use of Pesticides are essential.

A Full Current Valid UK Driving Licence (up to 3.5 tonnes) is required.
