    We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality traffic, road safety, active travel and highway improvement schemes across our network. You will be responsible for investigation, design and implementation of Traffic Calming, Traffic Management, Road Safety and 20mph Zones, Active Travel and Highway Improvement Schemes.

    Experience of design and supervising of Traffic, Road Safety, Active Travel and Highway Improvement Schemes is preferred with relevant technical knowledge and background experience of quality control and health and safety on site.

    You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with residents, members of public, contractors and consultants.

    You’ll work closely with our Traffic and Road Safety Engineering, Highways Engineering, Flooding, and Street Lighting teams, contributing to the safety, quality, and long-term resilience of our roads, pavements, and transport infrastructure. This is a highly visible role where your input will make a direct impact on the everyday journeys of our residents and commuters.

    This position is integral to ensuring the Highways & Transportation Strategy continues to achieve its high-quality standards of work during the current period of dynamic change within the borough and presents an exciting opportunity for professional development.
