We are looking for a dynamic and reactive individual to join our Strategic Housing team as an Empty Homes Officer.
Across Knowsley there are almost 900 empty properties and the post holder will be responsible for pro-actively working with their owners to bring them back into use and support the council’s plan to develop stable communities and address the chronic shortage of available housing across the borough.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be required to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders along with the ability to prioritise and maintain accurate records. Experience of working in an Empty Homes or Environmental Health service is essential as is knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice. A HHSRS certificate or experience of applying the HHSRS in assessing residential properties is also required.
