We are seeking an experienced and motivated Employment and Policy Adviser to join our Employment and Policy Team on a 12-month temporary basis to support a dedicated absence improvement project within Adult Health and Social Care.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting managers and employees across Home Support Services to deliver a consistent, proactive and supportive approach to attendance management. Working in partnership with operational managers, you will help drive improvements in absence management practices, ensuring organisational policies are applied fairly and consistently whilst supporting employee wellbeing and service continuity. You will contribute to the development of solutions and initiatives aimed at reducing absence levels and improving service resilience.
As part of this project, you will provide specialist employment advice and hands-on support to managers in the effective management of both short and long-term absence cases. You will assist in the monitoring and analysis of absence data, identify trends and opportunities for intervention, and support managers to ensure that all appropriate support measures are explored at the earliest opportunity, promoting early intervention approaches and ensuring appropriate support mechanisms are considered.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be eligible for membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). You will have at least one years experience of providing professional HR advice in a complex organisation and a strong working knowledge of employment law and attendance management processes.
This post will require travel throughout North Lanarkshire.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
