We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent emergency planner who will be able to bring knowledge and experience of emergency planning and business continuity best practice to our small but ambitious team.
The Council works closely with the emergency services, other councils and partners to ensure that our emergency plans and risk assessments are up to date and accurate. In doing so we ensure we are as prepared as possible for an emergency and are in the best position to support our communities and can continue to deliver the day to day services they need. As such we need someone who is confident and dependable acting as our contact point for building and maintaining strong relationships with key partners such as the Kent and Medway Resilience Forum, as well as identifying and managing risk.
The right candidate will also lead a training needs analysis, developing and implementing training programmes to support contingency and emergency plans across the Council. They will also interpret data external sources to ensure the most current emergency planning information is available to the council’s Leadership team and staff.
The role sits within the Events and Culture team. This team is responsible for the direct delivery of Council events, the commissioning of external events as well as providing oversight and advice directly to the community in delivering their own events. The succesful candidate will apply their emergency planning knowledge in an appropriate and pragmatic way to support the continued delivery of this extensive all year round events programme.
Salary range
- £40,206 - £42,635 per year
