Job Description

Overview

Are you interested in Electoral Services – if so, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our exciting and diverse team as an Electoral Services Officer, working together to ensure the smooth running of the service.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake relevant training and will be fully supported in developing a career within Electoral Services. Working in Electoral Services means being involved in an exciting and fast–paced environment.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Deputy Electoral Services Manager and play a key role in the successful delivery of Elections within Harrow.

You will undertake various duties in assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the Register of Electors and the conduct of all Referenda, UK Parliamentary, Greater London Authority, Local Government elections and by-elections within the Borough. If you are interested in the role and have good administrative, communication and IT skills, and would enjoy becoming part of our team we would be pleased to hear from you.

The closing date for this role is Tuesday 26th of August 2025.

Interviews will be held face to face on Wednesday 3rd of September 2025


About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with both internal and external customers, confidently handling enquiries by telephone and face to face.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant IT systems, with the ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when managing data and documentation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.

  • A collaborative approach to teamwork, with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to shared goals.

  • Ability to manage external supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of election materials.

  • A proactive attitude towards service improvement, with the confidence to contribute to meetings and policy development.
