We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Virtual School Education Coordinator to join our Virtual School here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a part time (term time only), fixed term contract basis until 31st March 2027.
As the Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for all administrative tasks and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date. You will also be responsible for liaison with internal and external partners to communicate our training offer and coordinate attendance.
The Virtual School promotes and champions the education of Children we care for, previously looked after children (PLAC), children who have a social worker or who have kinship care arrangements.
You will work to support the Virtual School team with all administrative tasks including maintaining our Virtual School roll and managing our ePEP platform.

Key responsibilities:
- Update tuition spreadsheet
- Update Virtual School roll
- Update ePEP our learning platform
- Respond to finance queries
- Respond to incoming queries to the main Virtual School inbox
- Maintain website with updated information and monthly DT briefing
- Prepare termly target documents for young people and arrange translations where required
- Organise PP+ funding approvals and liaise with Schools’ Finance
- Book and arrange termly team meetings
- Prepare annual celebration certificates.
- Prepare GCSE and Post-16 results spreadsheet
- Conference planning and coordination
- Coordination with tuition partners
- Complete all financial functions to support the leadership of the Virtual School.
Candidate requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- IT literate and experience of Microsoft suite of applications including Teams.
- Highly organised, good attention to detail and able to prioritise workload effectively.
- Some understanding of education and social care is desirable.
- Maths and English GCSE (pass)
- Enhanced DBS check

This is a term-time only position, working 39 weeks per year plus paid holiday entitlement. Annual leave is included in your salary and must be taken during school closure periods.
Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful. Therefore, the usual permission requests for secondments apply and you must speak to your line manager in the first instance before applying.
