We are recruiting an Ecologist at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

We pay an attractive salary of £39,152 - £41,771 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
As our Ecologist, you will provide specialist ecological advice and expertise across the Planning Division, other Council departments, external organizations, and members of the public. Your guidance will help ensure the Council meets its statutory Biodiversity Duty under the Environment Act 2016 and complies with legal obligations under the Habitats Regulations 2010.
In this pivotal role, you will also help coordinate and deliver the Caerphilly Biodiversity Action Plan, working closely with the Caerphilly Biodiversity Partnership to promote and support local biodiversity initiatives.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 6 (Degree) qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example a Degree in a Biological Science or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Sound knowledge of native flora and fauna with proven field identification skills.
- Demonstrable experience of working in and ecological related field.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough and the UK to attend meetings and site visits.
