    About the role

    We are looking for a part time Early Years Teacher to join our experienced and dedicated team who is motivated by early play and learning and shows passion and energy for working with children with SEN/ D. We would like to find someone who:

    • Can respond warmly and sensitively to each child as an individual, showing a celebratory approach to their learning and building their confidence and self-esteem.
    • Loves working in Early Years with proven expertise in teaching and recent up to date experience of teaching either nursery and / or reception age children.
    • Is committed to working in partnership with parents and carers from a wide range of communities and backgrounds.
    • Shows a sound knowledge of child development, particularly of early communication and sensory play.
    • Is able to draw on specialist strategies to maximise each child’s potential eg through non-directive play, intensive interaction, focussed interventions and so on.
    • Has shown commitment and experience of supporting young children with SEN/D to thrive and achieve.
    • Has the insight and skill to reach and / or learn about a wide range of children’s needs who can problem solve and find creative ways not only to engage and include children but inspire adults to understand each child.
    • Has experience in using MAKATON and understanding of the skills needed to create a total communication environment.
    • Can be a positive influence on the practice of others.

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
