What You'll Be Doing
Move Southwark is seeking a Duty Manager to join the team at our Leisure Centre.
As a key member of the Management Team, the Duty Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of centre operations during allocated shifts, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, facility presentation, and safety.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Taking full operational responsibility for the facility while on duty, including keyholder duties, building security during opening and closing, and the consistent application of all Normal and Emergency Operating Procedures.
- Leading, supervising, and supporting on‑duty staff teams to maintain excellent service delivery and a consistently high standard of centre presentation.
- Ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety requirements, legislative obligations, and relevant Council policies and procedures.
- Managing and responding to all incidents, taking command of emergency situations and coordinating an effective, safe response.
What We're Looking For
About You:
Duty Managers need to be responsible and calm under pressure. You will have a friendly, approachable manner, excellent verbal communication skills, good numerical and written skills and be committed to delivering excellent customer service to our customers. Ideally, you will have supervisory experience in the leisure & hospitality or service industries and a good knowledge of the day-to-day running of a busy Leisure Centre.
Additional Information:
- Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and Pool Plant Operators Certificate, but if not, free training can be provided subject to passing a swim test
- The hours of work will be shift based, requiring early morning, evening and weekend working
- Roles are available on a full time (36hrs), part time and casual basis
- DBS required
