Dorking Halls are looking for a Duty Manager to work across a wide range of events; comedy, music, theatre, cinema and more!

We need someone who has experience working with the public in a busy environment, maybe a theatre, cinema or music venue but we'll consider other related roles.

What will my main responsibilities be?

Supervise the work of casual Front of House staff during events as instructed by the Front of House Manager, ensuring that staff are fully briefed prior to events in line with relevant procedures.

Ensure proper procedures are followed regarding cash handling and the sale and control of stocks and undertake daily banking of cash.

Check work of cleaning contractor and ensure any issues are reported appropriately. When necessary, carry out additional cleaning duties personally and with the help of other staff to ensure standards of presentation are always maintained.

To act as Duty Manager, following set procedures, upholding the conditions of the Premises Licence and taking responsibility for the safety of customers and staff and the smooth running of all events in the building acting as a key holder for the building.

Ensure that all knowledge is up to date with an awareness of the latest Events/ Films and Offers in order to effectively promote events and facilities to customers at Dorking Halls.

Participate in staff training, including staff meetings, practice evacuations, etc.

To be responsible for the safe and effective running of Dorking Halls, ensuring you adhere to all relevant health & safety legislation, fire evacuation procedures and any other local procedures that may apply.

Shift pattern/rota: 37 hour week with the occasional need for out-of-hours working and a willingness to work long and unsocial hours and a flexible approach to working hours.
